Don’t Punish Yourself

Smiling woman with blowing hair

Read this and know that at least one person is thinking of you, so you must be worth thinking about. Be easy on yourself and be kind. Don't punish yourself for mistakes, but don't miss the opportunity to learn from them either. Don't confuse what happens to you with who you are. That is for you to decide, and you alone. Throw out whatever rulebook you think you're supposed to be following and write your own. Do whatever you need to do to make it through until tomorrow and let the rest of the world take care of itself. It's been doing it for a long time, it can do it for a while longer. Cry if you need to. Scream if you need to. Just don't punish yourself. You don't need to and you don't deserve it. If you can't believe in yourself, then believe in what I say. I'm much smarter than I look (just ask my mom), and if you don't take my advice you'll hurt my feelings. That's not something you want to be adding to that pile of crap you're already carrying around.
